 How Men’s Skin Is Different

Men’s skin is biologically different from women’s skin because of thickness and oil production. These differences change how men should care for their skin.

  1. Skin Thickness
  • Men’s skin is about 20-25% thicker than women’s.
  • It contains more collagen, which means men often wrinkle later, but when wrinkles appear they tend to be deeper.

Solution: Men benefit from ingredients that maintain collagen over time such as retinoids, vitamin C, and sunscreen

    2. Oil Production
  • Testosterone stimulates larger sebaceous (oil) glands (tiny glands connected to your hair follicles).
  • Men typically produce more sebum (natural oil the skin produces) than women.

Solution: Men often experience larger pores and more acne or congestion. Using a gentle foaming cleanser or incorporating salicylic acid or niacinamide
